Oh, Mike Fisher … we sincerely hope you don’t end up in the dog house for this one …

But you have to admit this photo is pretty iconic.

Over the weekend, Carrie Underwood celebrated her 35th birthday (on March 10), and we know it must have have been filled with so much love, festivity and friendship.

Several fans and friends took to Instagram to wish Carrie a happy birthday, but of all the wonderful messages she received, this one from her husband, NHL star Mike Fisher, may be our favorite.

Mike took to his own page to post the most amazing throwback photo of Carrie in her glory days on “American Idol.”

“Happy birthday to an incredible wife and an amazing mom with killer hair,” he captioned the shot. “All kidding aside, you’re a blessing to Izzy and I every day! Love you @carrieunderwood.” “Izzy” is Mike’s nickname for the couple’s three-year-old son, Isaiah.

Even with the big ’80s-style hair, Carrie is still absolutely gorgeous in the throwback photo.

And it looks like Mike is in the clear with his better half, who has an amazing sense of humor. She commented on his post, “You just can’t let some things go, can ya? Hey, you marry a girl from the South, you get a lifetime subscription to Elnett [hairspray] … mmmkay?”

This is the ultimate comeback from the queen herself!

Remember this “Idol” performance? This was the night Carrie stepped out of her comfort zone and performed the 1987 hit “Alone” by Heart, and man, did she knock it out of the park!

Did you just hear what Simon Cowell predicted here—that Carrie would not only win the show but would go on to sell more records than any other previous “Idol” winner?

Whoa!

Since her “Idol” win, the Oklahoma native has gone on to sell more than 16 million albums in the U.S. alone.

And although she’s an international superstar, to Mike and Isaiah, Carrie is beloved wife and mommy … and their favorite singer, of course! She’s been the apple of Mike’s eye since she was on the show. Remember he may have met Carrie at a meet-and-greet much later, but he’s been a big fan ever since her days belting it out on TV with big hair.

Maybe that’s why this photo is so special to him.
