It seems that Carrie Underwood is in high-demand these days, and it comes as no surprise because she can do a real good impression of Whitney Houston.
Or should we say, Dolly Parton.
During her show in Pittsburgh on Feb. 17 as part of her new Storyteller Tour, Carrie opened up about her admiration for country music and the Smokey Mountain songbird.
“I feel like one name that comes up constantly, especially amongst females in country music is the name Dolly,” Carrie told the enthusiastic audience. “I’m going to try my best right now to not screw up one of her classic songs. And everybody and their dad knows this song.”
Of course, we all know Carrie couldn’t screw up a song if she tried.
The “Heartbeat” singer then went and sang her version of “I Will Always Love You” and the audience went nuts. The mega-star started off a cappella, making sure to enunciate every word of the enchanting ballad. And it’s obvious that this isn’t the first time she’s sung it. In fact, she’s kind of put her own stamp on it by teaming up with Dolly on it more than once.
“I Will Love You” is one of 22 songs currently featured on Carrie’s tour.
