Can you guess which country guitar slinger just scored big at this weekend’s box office?

Ok, so maybe he didn’t star in the movie. And heck, he might not have even appeared officially in the credits. But country newcomer Frankie Ballard did make quite an impression this past weekend with his music, which was featured in the Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara blockbuster movie “Hot Pursuit.”

Ballard’s song “Drinky Drink” is featured during a scene in which Witherspoon and Vergara’s characters make a stop at a biker bar as they’re trying to run from the law. “I’m very honored that music I made will be heard in a feature film,” Ballard said in a recent press release. “I’ve always hoped this song would see the light of day and now it is! I haven’t laid eyes on the scene yet, but hopefully it’s a sexy place for ‘Drinky Drink’ to live forever.”

Written by Jaren Johnston and Luke Laird, the song is straight off Ballard’s 2014 critically-praised album Sunshine & Whiskey, which has spawned two consecutive number one hits (“Helluva Life” and “Sunshine & Whiskey”) and has one more seemingly on the way with “Young & Crazy.” Ballard goes out on the road with Florida Georgia Line this summer on the “Anything Goes” Tour and has previously opened for everyone from Rascal Flatts to Kenny Chesney.
