It was so much fun to see that wonderfully genuine and sweetly humble side of Kacey Musgraves during her recent appearance on CMT’s “Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team.” Not only did she help with a coach’s critique, but she also showed off her Texas sass by joining the girls in learning part of a dance routine. And, she did a pretty good job, even wearing official Cowboys cheerleader boots.
So, Kacey fans couldn’t wait to see their favorite country star during her Sept. 30 show in Dallas at the State Fair of Texas, but they actually got a little bonus for the price of their ticket.
Decked out in a short fringe skirt and vest, and her signature white cowboy boots, Kacey launched into “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’.” The first verse was sultry, almost smoldering, but as the band began to kick into the second verse, the energy level escalated and the stage filled with a dozen Daisy-Duked booties and two dozen silver and blue pom-poms all shaking to the Nancy Sinatra classic.
It’s hard to tell whose smiles were bigger and brighter — Kacey’s or the cheerleaders.
The stars that night were most certainly big and bright deep in the heart of Texas!
