Blake Shelton’s reaction to his 2012 CMA Entertainer of the Year victory is still one of the best ever YouTube/Screenshot

Blake Shelton had already had a huge night.

He had already won Song of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year at the 2012 CMA Awards, and was still in his stage clothes from his performance during a Willie Nelson tribute when he sat down to then-wife Miranda Lambert and started to get comfy…but not for long.

As Reba McEntire and actor Tim Allen began reading off the nominees in the “Entertainer of the Year” category that included Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley and once-unbeatable Taylor Swift, Shelton looked as if he didn’t have much confidence that he would take home this award.

But he did.

And the place went nuts.

And so did Blake.

“Man you can tell this time that I really didn’t think I would win…I mean, I’m still Willie’d out…I didn’t even go back to change!” Shelton told the crowd after a longer than expected hug from good friend McEntire. “Man. Whoa. Entertainer of the Year? What are you talking about? What is this? I don’t even know. Taylor Swift? How did this happen? I freaking love it though. I love country music more than anyone else in this room. I freaking love you all.”
