What would you think of Blake Shelton running for president?
Like Donald Trump on “The Apprentice,” Blake has gained widespread fame hosting an NBC competition show — “The Voice.” Blake also has 7 million more followers on Twitter than the Republican nominee for president.
This all led Blake to wonder aloud on Twitter whether or not he should have thrown his hat into the running for the presidency.
“Hell, I might have had a shot this year!!!!” he wrote to one fan who suggested Blake should think about a White House bid.
Blake later wrote, “Is it too late for me to run? I’ll make Luke Bryan my VP and Adam Levine my bitch…”
One fan said they thought Adam was already Blake’s bitch. Blake tweeted back, “Yes, but I mean like make it legal and official and stuff. Swear him in.”
We’re pretty sure Blake was only joking about running for President, but he kept the political talk going on July 25 as the Democratic National Convention kicked off in Philadelphia. DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Shultz resigned from the organization after WikiLeaks released several internal emails that made it seem like the DNC was supporting Hillary Clinton over her rival Bernie Sanders in the Democratic presidential primary.
Wasserman Schultz was immediately hired by the Clinton campaign, which led to Blake tweeting, “Wow.. Chaos at the RNC and now chaos at the DNC.. I can’t keep up!! Did Clinton really just hire Shultz or is that just gossip?!!”
When Blake found out it was true, he tweeted, “This is all unbelievable” and “I need a drink.”
Here’s hoping Blake keeps Twitter on fire with his hilarious political commentary this election season.
