It’s CMA Fest week in Nashville and that means you just might come across a country music superstar around each and every corner — even a country music superstar such as Blake Shelton.
It was the night of June 7 that Blake Shelton stepped onstage at the Stars for Second Harvest benefit and delighted everyone in the audience with his performance of “Boys ‘Round Here.” The performance was made even cooler due to the fact that it reunited Blake with one of the songwriters of the hit single – Craig Wiseman. The two’s chemistry was evident as they joked around about the song and then performed it together, with Craig taking the role of both Miranda Lambert and her Pistol Annies.
The June 7 performance was just part of a busy week Blake has planned, with upcoming performances both at the CMT Music Awards and the CMA Music Festival in Nashville. It’s all a part of a career that Blake still can’t believe he gets to live each day.
“I can’t believe that I’m standing here,” Blake said at the opening of his brand-new Country Music Hall of Fame exhibit, “Blake Shelton: Based on a True Story” on Monday, June 6 in Nashville. “I was standing here reading this ‘Will the Circle Be Unbroken’ and looking at these plaques and stuff. I’m not one of these people on these plaques, I know, but I do have an exhibit in this place. That’s a pretty damn big deal, if you ask me.”
