Blake Shelton is the latest country singer to weigh in on the Garth Brooks’ lip-sync saga.
It all began Nov. 8 at the CMA Awards when Garth Brooks admitted to lip syncing his performance on the awards show. Later in the week, Anderson East and girlfriend Miranda Lambert aired their disappointment about the situation over social media.
Then Blake weighed in, expressing his feelings and support in one short tweet on Nov. 10.
“Hey @garthbrooks … I still love you. #hero #respect,” he wrote,
Is it getting uncomfortable in here, or is it just us?
Since Garth’s Nov. 8 revelation (he blamed his decision on a strained voice), other artists have weighed in on the matter, including Big Vinny from the band Trailer Choir.
“Bad call bud,” Vinny wrote, calling out Anderson East, who started the ball rolling on Thursday with an Instagram post saying Garth’s decision not to sing live on the show “truly offends” him. Vinny’s post was accompanied by a picture of himself with Garth. “As much as I like your music, you will never be anything close to as impactful in the musical world as Garth! P.S. Your new record is great! You should probably humble yourself and apologize. Pretty sure Garth will forgive you and probably even do a song with you!”
Stay tuned. We’re sure there are more developments coming.
