How do you measure heat? The thermometer? The setting on your oven? How about by Blake Shelton’s tweets?

According to a recent tweet from our favorite “The Voice” coach, Gwen’s cover of the September 2016 issue of Cosmopolitan earned three exclamation points and the proclamation, “Oh good lord almighty.” That’s southern for “wow!”

Gwen shared the cover art herself on Twitter with a link to an excerpt from the magazine where she specifically talks about her relationship with Blake.

She about her time on the second season of “The Voice,” “We were laughing our heads off when we saw the blind auditions. I love NBC, but they for sure edited stuff to look like we were flirting. They chose to run with that story before anything was even real. I hardly knew him. But it was like it was in the air — happening before it happened.” She also expressed some skepticism about getting involved with the country star. “We were both having trust issues, as you would if you were us,” she says. “It was like, I have so many problems. How can I now be getting into another potentially huge problem? What am I doing?”

Gwen graciously avoids specifics when asked about the demise of her relationship with Gavin Rossdale, but she also admits, “Nobody would believe it if I could really say what happened. I went through months and months of torture.”

Heartbreaking.

Fortunately, Gwen is now making beautiful music with Blake, both figuratively and literally. If you haven’t picked up Blake’s newest album, “If I’m Honest,” you should. It includes the duet “Go Ahead and Break My Heart,” performed and co-written by the couple. And that makes our hearts happy.

The September issue of Cosmopolitan, with Gwen on the cover, goes on sale Aug. 9.
