This season’s four “The Voice” coaches may be competing against each other on the show, but that doesn’t mean they can’t take time off to enjoy a friendly feast together.
In fact, that’s exactly what they did.
During a new segment on the “Today” show, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Miley Cyrus and Jennifer Hudson took a break from their coaching duties to grab a bite to eat at “The Voice” executive producer, Mark Burnett’s Malibu home.
The group’s gathering wasn’t complete without “The Voice” host Carson Daly though. He and his wife, Siri, volunteered to cook for the judges while they all chatted about topics ranging from family to their favorite foods.
But, it didn’t take very long for the conversation to turn to “The Voice.”
“So Miley, what’s your strategy this season?’” Blake asked.
The “Younger Now” singer jokingly answered by telling the country crooner that she plans on wearing as many cowboy boots as possible so she can win over his contestants on the show.
“With you guys, it’s like playing a board game at Thanksgiving with your family,” Mark, who had been watching the lighthearted interaction among the coaches, added. “Everybody wants to win, and crush each other a little bit for the game, but then everyone loves each other and it’s all in good fun.”
Mark’s observation then prompted Blake to point out one of his on-screen family members.
“Throughout 13 seasons, there’s always, always at least one coach on the show that hates Adam,” he joked.
“I wouldn’t have it any other way,” Adam said, as they all clinked their glasses together to toast their show “family.”
“The Voice” airs Monday and Tuesday nights on NBC.
