One thing that helps keep a relationship strong is if your significant other inspires you to be a better person.

For happy couple Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani, that’s definitely the case.

In an interview with “Access Hollywood,” Blake admitted that it makes a world of a difference when Gwen attends his shows. In fact, her presence at his concerts helps him make more magic onstage.

“I think I get a little bit better performances out of myself when she’s around,” said Blake. “She’s Gwen Stefani, and you feel pressure when she’s around watching you.”

Blake continued, “She’s like Santa Claus. She knows if I’m bad or not you know so I’ve got to do good.”

The pair who sparked romance on the set of “The Voice” marked their one-year dating anniversary this past November. No word yet on how they will spend Christmas this year, but we can only imagine impressing Gwen takes that extra effort off stage, too.

Aside from Christmas, Blake does have New Year’s Eve plans. He will celebrate the annual ball drop from Times Square in New York at the 2016 “NBC’s New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly” television spectacular. Other stars scheduled to perform include Grammy-winning artist and Blake’s fellow “The Voice” coach Alicia Keys and a cappella group Pentatonix.
