It seems like much of the United States is under the icy grip of winter with parts of Florida even experiencing freezing rain. And in Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweeping down the plain, the chill of the season has altered the landscape of the heartland.
With a hard freeze sweeping his home state, Blake Shelton is doing what most landowners do when the climate changes. He’s mostly hunkering down, but first, he’s walking his property. And he’s in good company with beautiful Gwen Stefani tagging along, making the task a lot more fun.
Gwen shared a photo on Instagram that shows the couple discovering what appears to be a frozen creek. It’s shallow enough that you can see the rocky bottom, which also means that it is frozen solid enough that the couple is able to stand on it.
Actually, they’re dancing on it!
There’s no doubt they were feeling the sting of a bitter wind, but we wonder if their ears were burning as well because, on the east coast, their names came up when “Today” hosts were making their predictions for the coming year.
Newly appointed official co-host and Blake’s dear friend, Hoda Kotb, looked at Carson Daly from “The Voice” and said, “My other prediction [for 2018,] Carson, is that Blake and Gwen are going to get married.”
Although Carson denied having any knowledge of such an event, Kathie Lee Gifford told him he was a “terrible liar.”
We certainly don’t have any knowledge either, but we do have hope–a lot of hope! After all, this couple has been together for more than two years. While many online haters continue to slaughter them and attempt to undermine their relationship, they seem to continue, unfazed, but focused on building a loving, happy and healthy relationship with each other and her sons.
And, seriously, doesn’t everyone just deserve to be happy? Everyone? There are bigger things to hate than a couple in love.
Of course, if Blake and Gwen are planning to tie the knot, it doesn’t look like it would be early in 2018. Not only does the Oklahoma country star have show dates on his calendar for his “Country Freaks Tour” with Brett Eldredge, Carly Pearce and his longtime buddy Trace Adkins, but the 14th season of “The Voice” also kicks off in February where Blake will be going for his seventh win on the successful series.
He’ll also be facing off against Kelly Clarkson, who is married to his manager Brandon, which means not only is the competition going to go to the next level, it also promises to be funnier than ever.
