Big & Rich find themselves dealing with a devastating loss Facebook/Big Kenny

Country fans all over the world are mourning the loss of Big & Rich’s Big Kenny Alphin’s mother, Mary Strother Tinsley Alphin, who passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 3.

Big Kenny posted a heartfelt note on his Facebook page and shared a photo of his mother holding him when he was a baby.

“Dear Lord, I know she knows it, but please, tell Mama I love her.”

Big Kenny’s wife of 11 years, Christiev Carothers, also posted her own tribute to her mother-in-law on own Facebook page.

“I already really miss you Mary. You still had alot to teach me & cherish all that you did. Thank you for bringing my Kenny into the world, gifting me, my boys, (& the world) with love & ‘big kenny’ kind of music. Thank you for instilling the passion of all things flowers & gardens, every time I watch him whistling, with a total joy & peace tending to the earth, & gardens … I will think of you and thank you. P.S. Hug Jesus for me.”

Mrs. Alphin founded her church’s children’s choir in the early ’60s and supported the church as an organist.

Our hearts and prayers go out to Big Kenny during this difficult time.
