Like everyone else in the nation, Alan Jackson has been heartbroken seeing the devastation in Texas left in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. Massive flooding is destroying homes and businesses all around the city of Houston and elsewhere, and like the rest of us, Alan hurts when he sees the news coverage.

“I’ve toured a lot over the years in east Texas, played the Houston Rodeo 23 times and I hate to see what’s happening down there,” he says in a prepared statement. “It’s tough to watch … and I can’t imagine what my fans and all the people of Texas are goin’ through.”

In an effort to help with relief efforts, Alan’s AJ’s Good Time Bar in Nashville has launched a #HonkyTonks4Texas initiative. Starting Thursday, August 31 through the bar’s closing on Labor Day, September 4, the bar will donate $1 for every item sold to the Harvey Recovery Fund administered through the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.

Alan adds, “I hope this allows folks in Nashville to feel like they can do a little something to help.”
