If you spend much time on social media, then you know that many people are quick to complain and slow to compliment. You may have also witnessed the ever-growing population of haters who hide behind the armor of their computer screen slinging arrows of hate and negativity, safe from the reality of repercussions.

And nothing is sacred. Nothing is safe from their venom. They can turn sweet pictures of puppies and babies into platforms for their contempt. And many are equal opportunity body shamers. Too fat? Too thin? Too fit? Even too pregnant!

Wait, what?

RELATEDJessie James Decker’s pregnancy cravings have officially kicked in

Yes, apparently the burgeoning belly of country star Jessie James Decker has come under fire from a few online haters who had plenty to say about the singer-songwriter’s new video for “Flip My Hair,” in particular one with the screen name Lea Marie. Now, in this viewer’s defense, Jessie did ask for feedback on her new video, but there just doesn’t seem to be anything constructive about this viewer’s comment, and paired with some pretty salty language, it seems more like hate-speak from a body shamer than a critique.

And there was more than one person that didn’t approve.

Most of the feedback was positive and kind, though.

Even fellow country celebs Clay Walker and former Stealing Angels member Caroline Hobby were digging the final video.

I LOVE this video so much. Not only is @jessiejamesdecker never scared to make a statement about what she believes in but also she is fearless. The tides are changing for women. No longer are women just supposed to stay home and raise babies (raising babies is such an important job but shouldn’t stop a woman from chasing her dreams and doing the work she was put on this earth to do). Jessie to me is one of the women I look up to the most bc she does it all, unapologetically. This video is case and point. Here she is rocking her baby bump and being a total boss and beautiful and sexy while taking a stand, and also having a sense of humor. THANK YOU Jessie and all other women showing us that we can still have our dreams and careers, stand for something, and be wives and mothers at the same time. Women are superhero’s!

Now Jessie doesn’t make any apologies to those who disapproved of the “Flip My Hair” video, and in another Twitter post, she does take a moment to explain her motives for shooting the video while pregnant, and even her post is empowering for women.

Of course, by soliciting the opinions of others, Jessie is inviting everyone to exercise their First Amendment right of freedom of speech, but it makes us wonder, what happened to those basic rules of kindness we all learned in grade school, or in Disney movies?

If you listen closely to the song, which was co-written by Jessie, you’ll hear that the lyrics have nothing to do with pregnancy, or hair for that matter, but are actually a message to those who first dismissed her pursuit of a career as a recording artist. However, it’s empowering for any woman operating in a male-dominated career field.

Congratulations to Jessie on her new video for “Flip My Hair.” We applaud her and all women, pregnant or otherwise, who embrace everything about themselves that makes them different, unique and special.

We’re also looking forward to meeting the new addition to the Decker family that Jessie and NFL star husband Eric Decker are expecting in March. The baby boy will be joining big sister Vivianne and big brother Eric Jr. in the family’s Nashville area home.

There are no tour dates listed on Jessie’s 2018 calendar, but with a baby arriving and a new launch to her Kittenish clothing boutique in the new year, it’s looking like the sweet singer has plenty to keep her occupied for at least a few months.
