You have to admire young kids who compete on reality TV shows. The pressure of the judges, the crowds, the bright lights and production — even some adults can’t handle it all. But 11-year-old Tomos didn’t have just that to deal with during his blind audition for “The Voice Kids UK.” The handsome young man also took on a song that even left the judges emotional.

Tomos auditioned with Kelly Clarkson’s “Piece By Piece” for personal reasons. According to the U.K.’s “Daily Post,” “The Voice” coach Danny Jones, from the English pop rock band McFly, asked Tomos about his song choice. “Kelly Clarkson sings about her dad leaving her and I can relate to that,” the tween said.

So could Danny. He told the young man, “You know what Tomas? I can relate to that too, because when I was 18 …,” before he stopped, too emotional to continue his thought.

Surprisingly, no one’s chair turned for the young man. Coaches and Pixie Lott already had their teams. And while it was a tender performance, Tomos’ emotions may have gotten the best of him early on in the song, causing pitch issues, although he did grow stronger and more confident as it progressed.
