We’ve said it before and we’re happy to say it again, when it comes to taking care of their fans, it’s hard to beat country music’s stars. Zac Brown proved that point when he really went the extra mile for one of his fans in Philadelphia.

According to Philly’s CBS TV affiliate, Zac learned that 17-year-old Thomas Schoettle was unable to attend his concert because he suffered a devastating injury after diving into a pool last month. So, Zac hopped into a helicopter and headed to the hospital to visit with the young man.

The pair chatted like old pals for about 30 minutes, with Zac autographing items for his new friend and visiting with the hospital staff. Afterward Thomas told the news station, “I was a little nervous. When he walked in my blood pressure shot up. My heart was beating real fast.”

Careful there, Thomas! We want you getting well.

While Zac didn’t bring the rest of the band or a guitar so he could pick a few songs for the family, he did promise Thomas tickets to his show in Philly next year.

That sounds like some good motivation for Thomas to be diligent about his physical therapy, right? And hey, what about that four-legged therapy?
