It has been an amazing year for pregnancy and childbirth in country music. Rarely has a week gone by that we haven’t had fun with the news of a little one coming, a gender reveal or that long-awaited arrival of a country baby. But we’ve also been reminded that the miracle of birth doesn’t always come easily. Singer-songwriter Rose Falcon is sharing the heartbreaking story that led to her own Christmas miracle.

Rose, who is married to Rodney Atkins, posted a photo album on her Instagram page that shows a snugly sweet photo of herself with their adorable baby boy, Ryder, who was born on Dec. 14. Another shot shows their son snuggling into Daddy’s neck. It’s almost too precious for words.

Or maybe precious is the exact word.

It seems that before Rose and Rodney conceived sweet Ryder, there was another pregnancy that ended just before Christmas 2016.

On Dec 22, the new mother wrote, “On this day last year we found we found out our first pregnancy was not viable and would end in a miscarriage. So many days I thought we would never have a baby, and here we are holding our precious Ry. Tonight my heart is with anyone who wants to be a mama and has been struggling. Please know miracles can and do happen.”

She goes on to say, “ I promised myself that if I was lucky enough to have a successful pregnancy I would share my journey in hopes that I could help or comfort someone else. I’m going to try to blog between feedings as soon as I can! Love y’all! #miraclebaby #rainbowbaby”

Sadly, Rose wasn’t the only country artist to endure the heartbreak of miscarriage recently. In 2016, Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott shared the story of her own miscarriage that took place in 2015, and recently Jana Kramer experienced her own lost pregnancy.

Fortunately, Hillary is now expecting twins, and we certainly have Jana and her family in our prayers.

And there are plenty of other country music families who experienced difficulty in conceiving. After Thomas Rhett and wife Lauren tried for some time to get pregnant, they began the process of adopting their little Willa Gray only to then discover they were expecting Ada James. Jason Aldean’s wife, Brittany, has also shared that becoming pregnant didn’t happen as quickly as they had hoped, but she and her country star hubs now have handsome little baby boy Memphis. And Brantley Gilbert and his wife, Amber, experienced a similar journey when their ability to conceive was delayed. Fortunately, they welcomed a beautiful baby boy named Barrett this year.

While we celebrate the birth of Jesus this Christmas, we can also celebrate the everyday miracle that childbirth and conception are for anyone.
