Legal troubles which began on Aug. 2 for former “The Dukes of Hazzard” star Tom Wopat have now gotten even more serious with the addition of new charges against him,
The actor was first arrested in Massachusetts last month and charged with felony indecent assault against an adult co-star in the play “42nd Street,” which he had been set to star in until his arrest. Police also charged him with cocaine possession after a powdered substance was found during the arrest.
And as bad as that situation was … it just got worse.
According to various media reports, Tom is in hot water once again, now facing a new indecent assault and battery charge, along with new charges of accosting and annoying a 16-year-old actress who was also working on the same play. In this new report, which stemmed from an interview with the teenage alleged victim, Tom is accused of poking the minor in the stomach while she was wearing a crop top, using his script to slap her on the buttocks and lurking outside her dressing room.
According to court documents, Tom allegedly told the underage co-star, “”I’m a creepy old man. You’re really talented and really cute.”
Umm … ewww.
A police report also said that the victim turned Tom away from her dressing room by slamming the door when he attempted to gain entry.
A pretrial hearing that had been set for Sept. 26 has now been rescheduled to Oct. 24.
