The Cadillac Three lead singer Jaren Johnston has just posted the sweetest tribute to his grandmother, who recently passed away. The photo he chose shows her and Jaren’s grandfather smiling as they sit side-by-side on a patio.

You can tell from the photo that this woman had a lot of love in her heart, and Jaren confirms it with his own words in the caption. She was looking out for him even as he became one of the top songwriters in country music and his band rose to fame.

He writes, “RIP Mamaw. I loved coming to your camp at the lake when I was a kid and loved the phone conversations where you would ask me where I was traveling next and if it was safe … and if I was actually making any money … Thanks for making my pops, and thank you for Jude’s awesome red hair.”

Jaren is referring to his baby boy, Jude, who apparently gets his auburn locks from Mamaw.

Jaren is still burning up the road with the Cadillac Three.

They have a full slate of tour dates, including a March 15 show in Kansas City, Missouri.
