Country music singer and “Pretty Little Liars” actress Lucy Hale has said that the New Year is going to be all about “speaking her own truth.”
But, in no way did she think she’d have to use that motto to speak against bullies.
On Dec. 21, Lucy became a victim of theft when she learned that a group of hackers stole two topless photos from her cell phone. According Billboard magazine, those pictures were then distributed online for the public to see. They have since been taken down.
Now, Lucy is expressing her anger and disgust over the situation on Twitter. On Dec. 22, she tweeted, “Once again, a woman in the public eye was violated, stolen from and her private life and body were exposed for anyone to see. I will not apologize for living my life and having a personal life that is all mine. It’s truly unfortunate that being exposed in this way is allowed.”
Lucy went on to say that she was grateful to the fans that went out of their way to send their kind words of support, but she didn’t hesitate to cap off her message by slamming the haters once more. She wrote, “To whoever did this…kiss my ass.”
Although she’s primarily an actress, fans may recall that Lucy scored a top 30 hit on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart with “You Sound Good to Me.” The single, penned by lauded writers Ashley Gorley, Luke Laird and Hillary Lindsey, was released on Jan. 7, 2014, off of Lucy’s debut album, “Road Between.”
We’re so glad to hear Lucy is standing up for herself, and we wish her an amazing 2017!
