One of the biggest joys on Christmas Day is getting to unwrap the boatload of presents that usually lay underneath the Christmas tree. Not only do you get to see all of the beautiful and carefully wrapped gifts that someone put so much thought into, but you also get to shake each box and guess what could possibly be inside.

However, every now and then there’s one present that just means the most.

Turns out that country music star Kacey Musgraves received the gift of a lifetime this season after her boyfriend, singer-songwriter Ruston Kelly, got down on one knee! Yep, you read that right! Ruston proposed to Kacey on Christmas Eve in Golden, Texas, in one of the most meaningful and nostalgic places from her past, and she said yes!

Kacey was so excited to share the big news with her fans that she took to Instagram on Dec. 25, with a photo and the caption, “I didn’t say yes…I said HELL YESSSS!! Last night the best man I’ve ever met got down on one knee in my little pink childhood home..in the same room I played with my ponies and barbies and asked me the easiest question I’ve ever been asked. I finally know what everyone means when they say ‘you just know’.”

As you can see in the image above, Kacey flaunts her sparkly engagement ring in front of the couple’s Christmas tree. And boy, does the diamond shimmer!

Kacey’s sister and brother-in-law were also on hand, and they helped Ruston out with the surprise. They assisted with decorating the 28-year-old singer’s childhood room and watched on as Ruston popped the big question with a baby pink box in hand and the song “Two For The Road” by Henry Mancini playing in the background.
