As NASCAR fans, we all love to see our favorite driver grab the checkered flag at a race. The excitement is unparalleled, and we can’t imagine that there’s anything much better than that burnout on the track and standing in victory lane with your crew.
But actually, it appears that there is something better, or at least just as good for the driver of the No. 13 Chevrolet, Ty Dillon. And that is spending time with his adorable three month old little girl, Oakley Ray.
But Feb. 27 isn’t about Oakley, it’s about Ty’s 26th birthday.
OK, it’s a little bit about Oakley, too, but it’s mostly about what a great dad she has.
Ty’s wife, Haley, posted a video on her Instagram page that celebrates the daddy-daughter bond that is already developing between this precious pair. And as much as we think that these drivers are among the toughest manly men there are in the world of sports, Ty seems to turn into a cuddly teddy bear when his baby girl is in his arms.
Haley writes, “Oakley wanted to wish her daddy a happy birthday 🎂🎉🎈🎊🎁 to the best dad, we love you so much! What an incredible year 25 was, and I can’t wait to see what 26 will bring for you! We’re going to miss these times so much, all the incredible memories we are making, and as much as our phones drive us crazy I’m so glad to be able to quickly capture these moments of you! You are just the most incredible man, and being a dad looks so good on you! We love you Ty! Happy birthday!#Tysbirthday #26thbirthday #weloveyou #babygirl #daddysgirl #dad #bestdadever @ty_dillon”
The video footage that accompanies that sweet birthday wish is enough to melt the hardest hearts. From the time Oakley is a newborn, Ty has made it his mission to set the bar high for what the pretty pink beauty should expect from a man, while making sure she knows the sky is the limit as “Super Oakley.” Whether he is cradling his infant daughter in his arms, dancing in the kitchen or on the floor playing with her toys and always singing, singing, singing, Ty is truly living up to that hashtag “#bestdadever.”
The North Carolina native, who also drives the No. 3 Camaro for Childress in the Xfinity Series, will be joining his fellow drivers in Las Vegas for another weekend of racing that starts March 1 with Camping World Truck Series practice. The green flag drops on the truck drivers March 2 at 9 p.m., and then on the Xfinity racers on March 3 at 4 p.m. The Monster Energy cup drivers take the field at 3:30 on March 4 for the Pennzoil 400.
Happy birthday to Ty, and best of luck and safe driving to all of the NASCAR competitors.
