Heck, life can suck. It can be filled with challenges and heartbreaks and moments where you wonder just why you are here in the first place. But then right when you want to throw in the towel and give up, there are moments where it all becomes perfectly clear.
Life can also be downright beautiful.
In fact, it’s often life’s unexpected moments that can catch you when you are not looking and truly hit you emotionally. One of those unexpected moments came during the August 19 race at Bristol Motor Speedway, where it’s a tradition for 50 or so children to break out their patriotic duds and sing this annual tribute to the country they love in front of thousands of NASCAR fans in the stands and countless others watching at home.
And yes, not all of them are on pitch. Not all of them know all the words. Not all of them can even understand the full gravity of what they sing and why they sing it. But one thing is for sure — they love their country and they love letting everyone know about it.
And as far as we are concerned, that’s what it’s all about.
