Danica Patrick shares sexy pic amidst breakup news Instagram/DanicaPatrick

As many looked forward to spending the coming holidays with loved ones, Danica Patrick’s spokesperson was confirming the breakup between Danica and her love of five years, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., on the morning of Dec. 18.

And that’s just sad.

The spokesperson said that the couple is “no longer in a relationship” and asked for privacy, according to the Charlotte Observer. The couple did not appear together at the NASCAR awards ceremony in Las Vegas in November.

Yet, just hours before the breakup news began to surface, Danica released a sexy pic of herself, showing off her insane physique in what essentially was yet another plug for the upcoming 2018 release of her new book, “Pretty Intense: The 90-Day Mind, Body and Food Plan That Will Absolutely Change Your Life.”

Alongside the picture of her sporting a wide smile, Danica wrote, “I can’t wait for this year and a half-long process to actually be in people’s hands. Of all the things I do, helping people become well on the inside and outside is the most gratifying.” She then tellingly added. “Just say yes, you yourself. You are your longest relationship!”

While Ricky has yet to comment on the breakup, a Dec. 17 retweet might just give fans a clue as to where his head is at the moment.

“One thing is for sure, ‘I will build my life upon Your love, it is a firm foundation, and I will put my trust in You alone and I will not be shaken.’ Thank you Lord for being forgiving, unshakable and true. Thank you for the forever gift of Christmas,” was the message retweeted by Ricky.

This major change in her relationship status is just one of the many upheavals in the personal and professional life of Danica, who retired from full-time NASCAR racing at the end of the 2017 season. Add that to her own clothing line, the release of her book and her winery in Northern California, and this busy star has had her hands full.

“These have always been things I’ve done on the side,” she said in a November interview with the Bend Bulletin. “I’m involved, but now I’m going to have the time to be really involved. Because when the season ends now, I am able to relax. But will I be able to evolve into that and let that be a comfortable space for me to live in? I think I could.”

Whatever happens, we wish Danica the best in the coming days, months and years ahead.
