There are those of us who just don’t look so great when we are six months pregnant.
And then there is Amy Earnhardt.
Seemingly a tad shy thus far when it has come to posting pictures of her growing belly, the wife of NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt Jr. seems to be feeling extra confident these days, especially when, on Feb. 9, she posted a pic of herself in a leopard print bikini.
“Somebody pinch me,” she wrote alongside the pic of her laying in what is presumably the Florida sun, letting that prego belly get a little vitamin D.
As reported by Rare Country just one day before, Amy and husband Dale Earnhardt Jr. seem to be loving the warm, southern sun as they continue their work on their home renovation project that is being filmed for the DIY Network. And the baby has to be enjoying it, too!
Fans know that Amy is due on May 2, and they love it when Amy shows off her growing belly. In fact, just an hour after posting the pic on her Instagram, Amy had hundreds of comments from fans. “Swimming for two,” one fan wrote. “I love it!”
“You look fantastic,” another fan commented. “That baby girl is one very lucky girl.”
Another fan even got us weepy. “A woman is already beautiful, but when she is with child, she is more beautiful and gorgeous and has a glow that brightens up all the area around her,” the fan wrote. “God bless you and Dale Jr. and your little bundle of joy.”
Indeed, Amy looks quite content as she heads into the home stretch of her pregnancy. And it comes at the perfect time, as things look to be quite busy for the happy couple in the months ahead. Not only will the two be on hand Feb. 18 at the Daytona 500, where Dale Jr. will serve as grand marshal, but Dale Jr. will soon be heading overseas to begin covering a bit of the Winter Olympics for NBC.
“I joke, but in all seriousness, this is the first job I’ve had in 20 years,” Dale Jr. said in a recent interview about his new broadcasting gig. “A job is when people tell you to be here at this time, this is what is required to do and expect out of you. In racing, I didn’t have that, I had a lot of leverage and could control all the situations. When I signed up to do the NBC thing, I told myself I would be available and open to whatever they thought was best for the broadcast. I want to be an asset to them, so I’m dropping the guard, so to speak.”
You have to imagine that both Dale Jr. and Amy are enjoying the ultimate sweet spot of their lives right now.
But just wait until their baby girl gets here.
