There are those days on the calendar that stand out from the rest — the days that will always mean more to you when they come up, the days that haunt you, and the days that remind you and the days in which your life changed forever. Those are the days you want to stop in time, and celebrate and remember.
And that’s exactly what NASCAR driver Kurt Busch and wife Ashley did on Jan. 7 on the occasion of their first wedding anniversary.
The couple paid homage to their special day in many ways, with Ashley first heading to her social media channels to share a breathtaking video of the couple’s 2017 wedding day that even included a cameo from wedding performer Steven Tyler. “Best day of my life,” Ashley captioned the video “Happy anniversary to my forever love.”
And like every good husband, Kurt also headed to his social media channels to send a sweet sentiment back to his gorgeous wife. “Happy anniversary to the most beautiful woman in the world,” he wrote. “One year down, infinity to go.”
The couple also looked like they took the day to spend together and truly bask in their love, sharing a few special pics of their anniversary date with fans. “It’s a tradition to eat the top of your wedding cake on your first anniversary,” Ashley wrote alongside pics of her original wedding cake and the top a year later.
“President Busch anniversary dinner cruise aboard the USS Honey Fitz,” Kurt also wrote alongside an outdoor pic of the happy couple. “I love you my First Lady Ashley!”
It certainly looks like the honeymoon just continues for these lovebirds. Kurt married the former model and polo player on Jan. 7, 2017, and has already weighed in about their plans to have children in the future. “I can’t wait to raise children with Ashley and start the next chapter in my life,” Kurt said in an interview last year with People magazine. “I know having a child together will be as wonderful as everything has been so far.“
Of course, soon Kyle and his fellow NASCAR drivers will be back to work, as the biggest race of the season (Daytona 500) takes place on Feb. 18. Many eyes will be on Kurt, who is the reigning Daytona 500 champion.
“Having my hard work pay off by winning the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup and the 2017 Daytona 500 has given me the drive to continue conquering the NASCAR world,” Kyle said in a recent interview with Autoweek. “I am excited to enter the 2018 racing season as a Monster Energy athlete where I will continue to drive my favorite manufacturer, the Ford Motor Company.”
