But Kid Rock just proved that sentiment wrong … big time.

Because just one minute past midnight on September 8, Kid Rock dropped brand-new music on his fans in the form of a new song that is especially intriguing to his country music audience. Titled “Tennessee Mountain Top,” the song has actually been shared a couple of times by the outspoken artist throughout the past year. Yet, Kid Rock is upping the ante now on this song, as it will soon be promoted to country radio as part of his new affiliation with a Nashville-based record label.

Harking back to the days of hits such as “Picture” and “All Summer Long,” the song is southern rock at its finest, delivered effortlessly by Kid Rock’s gravelly voice and featuring some heartfelt sentiments that it’s sometimes easy to forget Kid Rock is capable of.

And while Kid Rock seems to be getting more headlines for his possible political aspirations than his music these days, this song should once again put the focus back on his undeniable way of making his brand of music that seems to fit nicely within the country genre.

Kid Rock will also host his third annual Fish Fry in Nashville October 6 and 7.
