There are some folks who get so excited for Christmas they start playing holiday music right after Halloween. Miranda Lambert is not one of those people.

The country star doesn’t like hearing Christmas music until it’s actually time to celebrate the holiday in late December.

She tells Rare Country, “I don’t like how early it starts. It’s like, November is my birthday month. We need to let November be November. I mean, I like Christmas music for three days: Christmas Eve, Christmas day, maybe Christmas Eve Eve, and out.”

In spite of all the songs Miranda Lambert has written over the years, she tells us she’s never tried to write a Christmas song. So, if you’re hoping for a “Christmastime with Miranda Lambert” album somewhere down the road, you’re out of luck.

When Miranda does fire up the holiday music, she has three go-to Christmas albums.

“I love Kelly Clarkson’s Christmas record, and obviously Mariah [Carey] is like the old school go-to and Pentatatonix, that’s my go-to.”

Of note, Miranda celebrated her 34th birthday on Nov. 10.
