Alan Jackson and Chris Young were both heavily influenced by the late, great Keith Whitley, so it’s only fitting they’d team up for a duet on Keith’s classic holiday song, “New Kid in Town.”

The duet was included on Chris’s 2016 holiday album, “It Must Be Christmas,” and now the two stars are performing the song together again on this year’s “CMA Country Christmas” special.

Along with Alan and Chris, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Luke Bryan, Trisha Yearwood and Brett Eldredge are among the other stars performing on “CMA Country Christmas,” which airs Nov 27. Reba McEntire performs and hosts the show, too.

Chris was really excited to have Reba emcee this year’s special. He tells Rare Country, “She’s incredible at anything like that. She’s so funny. She’s so talented, obviously. What an artist!”

Chris loved performing on “CMA Country Christmas” so much in 2016 that he didn’t hesitate to return for the 2017 show.

“Everybody has really awesome things planned,” Chris says of the special. “It’s not to be missed.”

“CMA Country Christmas” premieres Monday, Nov. 27 on ABC.

Of note, Chris is up for Grand Ole Opry Moment of the Year at the Rare Country Awards. He’s nominated for that unforgettable moment when he gave Vince Gill a bear hug after accepting an invitation to become the Opry’s newest member. Vote now through Dec. 13 at Winners will be revealed during a livestreamed concert event on Dec. 14 in Nashville.
