Lady Antebellum is in the middle of a baby boom right now with the group’s Hillary Scott expecting to deliver twins any day now. Her bandmate, Dave Haywood, is also tending to a newborn baby girl named Lillie Renee. Dave and his wife, Kelli, welcomed the little bundle of joy on Dec. 22, and she’s getting along nicely with her older brother, Cash, and the family dog, Bear.
Well, maybe not getting along, but she is tolerating their affection. You can check it out in this very sweet Instagram video Dave just posted.
Cash, 3, and Bear try to lead Lillie in singing “The Wheels on the Bus,” and Lillie gives some major side eye to the camera as Cash sings in her face, rubs her head and moves her arm back and forth. Dave writes, “Lillie is not too sure about Cash and Bear but they LOVE her!!!! Catch that eye roll from her.”
We caught up with Dave at the Jan. 11 Grammy nominees party in Nashville and asked him how Lillie Renee is fitting in with the family.
“She so sweet!” Dave tells Rare Country. “She’s sleeping really well. Eating really well. We actually are getting a decent amount of rest, which is not normal.”
Dave’s bandmate and fellow dad Charles Kelley chimes in, “What’s that like?”
Dave goes on to describe Lillie as “really fantastic” before adding, “She loves to be held, which is great ‘cause I can take a nap and she’ll just fall asleep in my arms. I’m already melting. She’s absolutely beautiful.”
We have to agree, Dave. This photo of Lillie just resting in her holiday jammies over Christmas is downright adorable!
Dave and Kelli introduced Lillie to the world with his photo right after she was born. You can see the proud parents just beaming as they hold their little bundle of joy.
Dave’s caption reads, “She is named after both of her grandmothers. Kelli and Lillie are happy and healthy, and Cash is already a great big brother. God is good!”
Dave will have a few more months at home bonding with Lillie before Lady Antebellum kicks back into high gear. The group is still actively promoting its latest album, “Heart Break,” which is up for Best Country Album trophy at the 60th annual Grammy Awards coming up Jan. 28 on CBS. They’re also nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for the lead single from that project, “You Look Good.”
At that Grammy nominees party in Nashville, Charles told Rare Country that Lady A will have a big announcement soon about details of the group’s return to work this summer. That’s pretty impressive considering Hillary is delivering twins at the beginning of the year.
Charles says, “We’ve got some big summer plans. [Hillary is] ready to come back and rock and roll. Everybody’s got their eye on the prize to keep pushing this music. We feel really proud of it. We’ve got several more singles we want to put out on it.”
Check out the video for Lady A’s latest single, “Heart Break,” and stay tuned for news about their big summer plans coming soon.
