As the days continue to wind down to the release of Scotty McCreery’s new album, “Seasons Change,” on March 16, fans’ anticipation surrounding the North Carolina artist’s new music has reached maximum capacity, especially when he teases them with videos like the one he released on his socials on Feb. 3.
“This song is very autobiographical for me,” Scotty says in a video showcasing the new song. “It’s also a song that a lot of people can relate to. So with ‘In Between,’ I hope it’s a song that can touch people. One of the lines that I love is ‘I ain’t all holy water and I ain’t all Jim Beam, I’m somewhere in between.’ I fell like that’s a lot of people out there. Hopefully folks will enjoy this song and get something out of it.”
Scotty recently took the time to share a little more about the song with Rare Country. “The fans have been waiting three years for new music and ‘In Between’ is certainly one of my favorite songs,” Scotty told us. “I wrote it a few years back.”
In fact, it’s been a song that many have been waiting for, including Scotty’s very own parents, who both tweeted about it upon its release. “So happy that the rest of [you] can finally hear the new @ScottyMcCreery song ‘In Between,’” Scotty’s dad Mike tweeted. “Written several years ago, but finally seeing the light. One of my favorites that he has done & I like a LOT of them! My car speakers better be ready tomorrow cause the volume is going up! Enjoy.”
“Enjoy Scotty McCreery’s new single ‘In Between,’ written way back in 2015,” Scotty’s mom Judy added. “Hit No. 1 on Amazon today and already top 40 iTunes Country!”
With all the excitement surrounding “In Between,” it’s also important to remember that Scotty’s current single, “Five More Minutes,” is still finding its way up the charts, currently sitting in the top 10 of Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. “Yes, it’s been an amazing few weeks,” Scotty told Rare Country. “I have always said that 2012 was one of my favorite years I have ever lived – I mean, I was playing basketball and dating Gabi and such, but 2018 ain’t looking so bad either.”
Who could forget that 2018 also looks like it will hold a wedding for Scotty and Gabi. Scotty recently told Rare Country that all of the preparations are well under way.
“You just reminded me that I have to call the catering company, but yeah, we have most of the big things done,” he told Rare Country. “We are sending the ‘Save the Dates’ out, and we need to pick out our wedding cake, but we are doing pretty good. Right now we are inviting about 230 people, so yep, it’s going to be a good size wedding. I’ve never been one for organization. I went to Target last week and bought a planner, and now I have it where all my stuff is in red, Gabi’s stuff in blue and everything else in black.”
We can’t wait to see what else 2018 has in store for Scotty.
