Lady Antebellum just wrapped the North American leg of their “You Look Good World Tour” this past weekend, but the memories they made with their opening acts, Kelsea Ballerini and Brett Young, will live on forever.
Though they all made magic with onstage collaborations over the course of the tour, the real show happened backstage with Lady A’s kids. Each member of Lady Antebellum — Charles, Hillary and Dave — has one child, and they all spent a lot of time out on the road this summer.
We caught up with Kelsea and Brett to ask them about hanging with the kids, lovingly referred to collectively as “Baby Antebellum.”
Brett tells Rare Country, “They’re all adorable. We joke, actually, because Hillary’s little girl looks just like Hillary, Charles’ [son] looks just like Charles … so we call them Baby Antebellum. We actually want to put them in a pool and take a picture to replicate the tour picture, but with their children, and call it Baby Antebellum.”
Charles’ son Ward and Dave’s boy, Cash, were on the road quite a bit, but Hillary’s daughter, Eisele, was on the road full-time since Hillary’s hubby, Chris, is also Lady A’s drummer. Kelsea is absolutely over the moon about Eisele.
She tells us, “[Eisele is] a princess! She calls me ‘Kelsea Ballerini.’ One word. My name is one word. It’s so cute. She’s so cute, and Hillary having twins is just, like, amazing. She’s so happy. They’re just the most beautiful family.”
Brett agrees with Kelsea about Eisele being a true force of nature.
He adds, “She’s just a ball of fun and a ball of energy. Yeah, they’re so sweet. It really does feel like a giant family tour. It’s been amazing.”
As Kelsea mentioned, Hillary is now pregnant with twins, and Dave’s wife, Kelli, is also expecting their second child (a girl). Lady A is seriously going to need a fully-staffed nursery for their next tour.
Before the next round of babies arrive, Lady A is headed to Europe and South Africa for the overseas leg of the “You Look Good World Tour.” They’ll be performing their brand-new single, “Heart Break,” which is the title cut of their latest album.
