Lady Antebellum was missing a member at the annual Grammy nominees party in Nashville Jan. 11. The trio’s Dave Haywood and Charles Kelley were on hand to celebrate their two Grammy nods, but Hillary Scott was at home resting as she awaits the arrival of her twins.

Charles tells Rare Country, “We wish Hillary could be here tonight with us, but, literally, she’s due at any moment now. But it’s an exciting time.”

Dave’s new baby, Lillie Renee, was just born on Dec. 22 of last year, so Lady A is in full-on baby mode right now. Even Charles’ son, Ward, is getting in on the action, too. Just check out Charles’ tweet.

We asked Charles about that hilarious moment. He says, “Yeah, it was really funny. Hillary comes over the other day and drops off a late Christmas present, and Ward was there. I said, ‘Ward, you want to go see the babies that are in Hillary’s [belly]?’ He goes, ‘Open it! Open it,’ like it’s a present. She could just open up the babies. I thought that was really sweet.”

Missing the road life…can it just be summer already? 😎

Just because Lady Antebellum is in the middle of a baby boom doesn’t mean they’re taking much time off. In fact, Hillary plans to be back to work in just a few months to continue supporting their Grammy-nominated album, “Heart Break.”

Charles tells us, “We’ve got some exciting news in about a week or two that we’re going to announce. So, we’ve got some big summer plans. [Hillary is] ready to come back and rock and roll. Everybody’s got their eye on the prize to keep pushing this music. We feel really proud of it. We’ve got several more singles we want to put out on it.”

The success of “Heart Break” is a big shot in the arm for Lady Antebellum. The funky lead single from the project, “You Look Good,” is up for Best Country Duo/Group Performance and “Heart Break” is up for Best Country Album.

“The last time we were nominated for [Best Country Album] at the Grammys was ‘Own the Night,’ and that was three records ago,” Charles explains. “We pour our heart into each record, but this one, I really will say, we went out very intentional with a purpose, and Dave had this idea to go out to California, Florida and Nashville and just get into different areas and see what it inspired. We really feel like we made our most personal record in a long, long time. So, it’s always validating to then be here.”

By the way, Dave and Charles got to catch up with their fellow Grammy nominees Thomas Rhett and Little Big Town at the Grammy nominees party, too. Check out video of them trying to get a kick line going while taking a group photo on the red carpet.

Yep, no fun was had at all!

“You Look Good” is featured on the newly-released 2018 Grammy nominees compilation album, along with nominated tracks from Lady A’s fellow Grammy hopefuls Chris Stapleton, Kenny Chesney, Little Big Town, Thomas Rhett and Maren Morris.

You can see who takes home the Grammys when they’re handed out Jan. 28 on CBS.
