Carly Pearce made a big impression on country fans with her tender heartbreak ballad, “Every Little Thing.” Following her stunning performance of the song on the Grand Ole Opry, which earned her a Rare Country Award nomination for Grand Ole Opry Moment of the Year, Carly went on to score a No. 1 hit with the song, which was her debut single.
That’s a rare feat for any artist to pull off, so you’d think Carly would want to keep that ballad train rolling with her next single, right?
It turns out there’s more to this girl than what she showed us on “Every Little Thing.” She’s now showing off her sassy side with the new single, “Hide the Wine,” and you’ll definitely want to get a load of the sexy video she just released for the song.
From the very beginning, Carly is looking hot as all get out in a summer dress lounging at a banquet table out in the woods. It’s got a real medieval feel about it — like a down-home version of “Game of Thrones.”
The fun continues as Carly sings about making sure the mood is not set for romance as she welcomes an ex over to her home. That’s why she’s hiding the wine and turning up all the lights in the house. He’s just that hard to resist.
Carly is excited for fans to see this other side of her personality on “Hide the Wine.” She tells Rare Country, “It’s super-fun and [bluegrassy] the way I sing it. The way I scoop the notes sounds bluegrassy, and I love red wine. It’s just another playful side to me that I think people will be happy to see that I’m not just a heartbreak, sad girl. I am fun! I’m happy!”
Carly has worked really hard to get to this point in her career, and that work ethic was on full display when they shot the video for “Hide the Wine.” Watching it, you can actually see the actors’ breath since it was so cold outside. Despite Carly’s summer dress, they shot the clip outside in the dead of winter.
Video director Shaun Silva says, “I was so impressed by her willingness to be all in. It was extremely cold the day we filmed near [Nashville’s] Percy Priest Lake, and while the entire crew was covered up in outdoor weather gear, there she was in a summery dress dancing and turning up the sexy meter like a true performer.”
Carly will be performing “Hide the Wine” on the road all year long, and she’s appearing some major tours this year. Look for her to open for Blake Shelton on his “Country Music Freaks Tour” as well as Thomas Rhett on the “Life Changes Tour” this spring. She’ll then be on the road with Rascal Flatts’ “Back to Us Tour” this summer before teaming up with Luke Bryan for a run of shows on his “What Makes You Country Tour” in the fall.
