If anyone knows about the power of the passage of time, it is Luke Bryan. An artist and a man that has been through more than his share of triumphs and tragedies, Luke sings from the heart every time he sings his new single, “Fast.”

Performing the heartfelt song during the 52nd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards on April 2, Luke brought on some powerful emotions during the performance, seemingly reminding everyone in attendance and everyone watching at home that he can shine brightly on slow songs just as easily as he soars on his hip-shaking anthems.

The performance, which occurred amidst a backdrop of hanging light bulbs, served as a nice moment of solitude during a hosting gig that had Luke doing everything from showing off pics of his hilarious experiences in Las Vegas to spending some time with his very own wax figure and dressing up in garb that only Thomas Rhett could appreciate.

Throw in his musical tribute to Chuck Berry at the beginning of the show, and it’s safe to say that Luke’s night probably did in fact go much too fast.

What did you think of Luke Bryan’s performance? Did it tug at your heartstrings?
