“Dierks handles the job, but Blake never answered a question,” Luke remarked during a pre-show press conference on April 1 with fellow host Dierks Bentley. “Maybe one out of 20 he would answer seriously. It’s totally the same vibe at the core of it. [Dierks] is here to represent country music to the best of his ability, and I always enjoyed watching Blake be Blake… just being funny and never being too serious. But when it was time to get serious, he always got in there and made it happen. That’s where you kind of have to be a pro.”

The 51st Academy of Country Music Awards will broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sunday, April 3 on CBS.
