At this point, Chris Stapleton should just show up to every awards show with two things — his guitar and a wheel barrel.
Since his album “Traveller” came out in May 2015, nearly every awards show has showered Chris with trophies. You name it, and he’s won it.
While he is up for seven categories at the 51st annual ACM Awards, it isn’t the first year Chris Stapleton has received a nomination. Before he blew the roof off the joint as an artist, Chris was making his living writing hit songs for other artists.
When the 50th ACM Awards rolled around, Chris got his first ever ACM nomination for Song Of The Year (since the award goes to the songwriter) courtesy of Luke Bryan’s hit “Drink A Beer,” a song Chris had co-written with Jim Beavers.
Safe to say with seven nominations and already one award (New Male Vocalist of the Year was announced the week before the show), Chris’ seat in the auditorium will be much closer to the stage than he’s ever been before.
