ACM Male Vocalist nominee Brett Eldredge wows a late night audience with his latest hit NBC.com

The first time Brett Eldredge was nominated for an ACM Award in 2013 for New Artist of the Year, he lost.

It’s hard to believe, but Brett came onto the scene way back in 2010. His debut single, “Raymond,” got rave reviews from the critics but wasn’t as well received by country music fans. So he went back into the studio, worked hard and when he returned, it was with “Bring You Back,” the album that earned his previously mentioned ACM nod.

His next album, “Illinois,” paved the way for his country career. “Illinois” was released in 2015, with singles like “Lose My Mind” and his first chart-topper, “Drunk On Your Love.”

So far, “Illinois” has already doubled his ACM chances. This year, he’s nominated for both Male Vocalist of the Year and New Male Vocalist of the Year.

Win or lose, there’s satisfaction in knowing he’s on the right path and that’s clear by the smile on his face. Just look at him as he hears Jimmy Fallon introduce him to the “Tonight Show” stage with the words “Nominated for an Academy of Country Music award for Male Vocalist of the Year… Give it up for Brett Eldredge!”

Brett performed on “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon” on March 25 with “Drunk on Your Love.” Tune in Sunday, April 3 to the 51st annual ACM Awards to see if Brett goes home a winner.
