Most of us are always proud to be country music fans, but some weeks there is just so much good stuff happening, and country stars do such awesome things that we throw our chests out a little farther, smile a little broader and step a little bigger. This was one of those weeks.
And speaking of proud, when it comes to being a proud daddy, it’s hard to beat Thomas Rhett. From the time he and wife Lauren found out they were expecting baby Ada James at about the same time they were adopting Willa Gray, this couple has embraced parenthood with joy, grace and authenticity. This week, sweet Willa celebrated her second birthday and her precious parents pulled out all the stops.
In photos on their socials, Thomas and Lauren revealed the unicorn party that included a unicorn cake, piñata and, well, a pair of unicorns! The great thing is that as popular and successful as Thomas is, he still had his cell phone out snapping pictures of his little girl enjoying her big day just like any other dad.
Willa’s little sister, Ada, is just a few months old, so Thomas and Lauren aren’t likely thinking about adding to the family too soon, but another country star is, and he’s not going small with the addition.
Chris Stapleton and his beautiful wife, Morgane, announced that they would be welcoming twins to their family in 2018. That means we’ll have two sets of twins coming to country music next year since Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott is also expecting a duo. Now, Morgane performs with Chris, providing heavenly background vocals, and we don’t know yet what her pregnancy will mean for that. Right now, though, we’re just tickled to see this family of four—they already have two kiddos—go to six in the blink of an eye.
Actually, Morgane might have something to say about that nine-month blink of an eye!
Those are just two of the great things that happened this week in country music. Rare Country 5’s Erin Holt has more of our Top 5 stories in this week’s video, so be sure to check it out.
