When it comes to hot, young singer-songwriters making their mark on country music, there’s a truckload of them, each standing out in their own way. But when it comes to Brett Eldredge, he’s getting a little help from his four-legged roommate, Edgar. And their relationship is just one of the many reasons we adore this tall, handsome crooner.

Brett introduced us to Edgar right when he got his soon-to-be-famous fur baby, and we were hooked from the start. The canine became the country star’s sidekick and trusty companion, even accompanying him on stage, in his puppy days, in a baby carrier strapped to Brett’s chest.

As an adult dog, Edgar is still right by Brett’s side and their relationship is even sweeter. The Weimaraner/Vizsla mix is often seen backstage at meet-and-greets, and has been known to pass out puppy kisses to a select few fans. And late last year, his popularity grew to the point that he had to have his own Instagram page: @EdgarBoogie.

It. Is. Everything.

Brett definitely isn’t afraid to take the fall if it means he gets the chuckle, too. In fact, most of the time he is the brunt of his own self-deprecating jokes, and as endearing as it is, it’s also funny as heck. The man loves to laugh, and that’s another of the many reasons we love him.

We’ve got a few more reasons that this talented and handsome star is tops on our list, and you can see them in our new Rare Country’s 5 video, hosted by Erin Holt. We could have easily gone on to list pages of reasons we love Brett Eldredge, but we want to hear what you dig about this Illinois boy, so be sure to comment below.

And check back in later this week when we have more of the news in and around country music on Rare Country’s 5.
