Clint Black has announced the fifth season of his lauded Circle Network show, Talking in Circles with Clint Black. This season, which will premiere on October 7 at 10/9 CT, boasts a star-studded lineup: Bret Michaels, Elle King, Jimmie Vaughan, John Oates, Marcus King, Paula Abdul, and more.

“It’s a real diverse group,” Black tells American Songwriter of this buzzy list of guests. “Some of them have decades of life lived in the business. I do my homework and I think I know a lot about them, but there is always something that comes out in the interview that I didn’t know.

“It’s gonna be a great season,” he added.

Season five of the series will kick off with Paula Abdul. The singer sits down with Black for a “candid conversation about her multifaceted career as a choreographer, TV judge, singer, and dancer, and the memories she’s made along the way.” One notable talking point will be her experience choreographing for Michael Jackson.

The new episodes will air weekly on Saturday nights at 10/9c.

“Where else can you hear from artists ranging from Elle King to Bret Michaels to Lee Greenwood, about their lives and careers?” Circle Network’s SVP of Content, Evan Haiman, added in a statement. “Clint is such a unique, gifted interviewer and we’re so excited to be working with him again. You won’t want to miss all the never-before-heard stories he talks about with his season five guests!”

American Songwriter recently caught up with Black ahead of him receiving the Poet’s Award at this year’s ACM Honors.

“I’ve never craved awards,” Black says. “What I love most about this award is that people I either don’t know or don’t know well, decided, ‘That guy gets it.’ [These] are people who aren’t attached to me in the business, who want to honor me that way.

“I can’t help but take it to heart,” he adds. “I’m always careful about what I let my ego do, but that one got me. It really got me feeling like I’ve done good work.”
