There’s absolutely no question—Miranda Lambert loves playing music for her incredible fans anywhere in the U.S.A. But something special happens when homegirl heads south to Texas, because she is actually, home … girl.
Miranda spent a couple of hot nights in New Braunfels, Texas, over the weekend and, as she said in her Facebook post, it was a weekend spent with her “kinda people.” It was also “hot as hell,” she noted, as Texas is this time of year, but she had the “cool river, cold beer and BIG love.” She also reunited with good friend and fellow Texan, singer-songwriter Wade Bowen on the “Highway Vagabond” bill.
Now, Wade can stand on his own in front of any crowd, but New Braunfels is where he makes his home, so the energy was pretty intense. So imagine what it was like when Wade and Miranda combined their voices to perform another great Texan’s hit song—George Strait’s “A Fire I Can’t Put Out.”
Fans at Miranda’s upcoming shows at Red Rocks in Colorado are going to get an even bigger bite of Texas when both Wade Bowen and Randy Rogers — buddies behind the popular “Hold My Beer and Watch This” tours and albums — join Miranda on August 8 and 9.
You can take the girl out of Texas, but you can’t take Texas out of the girl.
