They have swept Nashville and country music by storm, and now hot new trio Midland is making its mark on late night television with a recent appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

Midland is rapidly becoming a fan favorite (and has long been a Rare Country staff favorite) with their throwback country sound, but during this performance of their hit single, “Drinkin’ Problem,” they proved they aren’t just adopting a retro sound. The band’s Mark Wystrach, Cameron Duddy and Jess Carson dressed in uniquely different suits, each embellished with embroidery and their own bedazzled motifs, reminiscent of Gram Parsons during his Flying Burrito Brothers days.

If you haven’t taken a listen to Midland yet, take note that their look and sound isn’t just a gimmick. Their entire self-titled debut EP is filled with songs that are less about drum loops and produced effects and more about acoustic and steel guitars and three-part harmony.

As excited as we were to see the trio on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” we’re even more excited to get that full-length album, “On the Rocks,” that comes out next month.

We’re also pretty dang excited about Jon Pardi’s “Lucky Tonight” tour with Midland and Runaway June. This is one of the most bona fide country tours we’ve seen in a long time. Dust off your boots, polish up your buckles and meet us at a show!
