It’s always a fun thing when a celebrity changes his or her appearance. Hair cut and color, along with the growth or loss of facial hair are the most frequent changes we see. And when a country beauty goes from long flowing locks to what appears to be a chopped bob, well, it certainly ups the ante!
Kelsea Ballerini sported a new do when she appeared on Stephen Colbert’s late night talk show recently, and it does look like she may have chopped her beachy waves. But, it’s also entirely possible that her stylist could have done an amazing job of rolling her hair up to simulate a Veronica Lake-type bob.
Perched on a piano in true torch singer style and in a shimmering silver gown, Kelsea is definitely throwing back the look and the vibe, but the new song, “I Hate Love Songs,” is straight-up contemporary country. The lyrics of this future hit are as fun as her look as she sings about all of the clichés that surround love, from “catching bouquets and the honeymoon phase” to “kissing in the rain.” Ultimately, she admits in the song that even though she might hate love songs, she loves being in love.
This appearance is just the beginning of what is to be a magical week for the young country star. Kelsea is nominated for “Female Vocalist of the Year” at Wednesday night’s CMA Awards, and she’s also set to perform with none other than Reba McEntire!
Of course, this talented sweetheart is also set to tie the knot with fellow artist Morgan Evans before the end of the year as well, so we’d say it’s a really good time to be Kelsea Ballerini!
