RARE COUNTRY AWARDS: Watch the recap of this year's award winners and live performances by Kane Brown, LANCO & RaeLynn

Carrie Underwood doesn’t sing romantic songs very often, so it’s a real treat when she shows off that tender side. That’s why her recent hit, “Heartbeat,” packed such a punch as it raced up the country chart.

It’s even sweeter when Carrie’s singing a romantic ballad made famous by her hero, Alan Jackson.

Back in 2012, Carrie decided to perform Alan’s hit, “Remember When,” during an appearance on the Grand Ole Opry. Before she sang it, Carrie revealed that Alan Jackson was her first concert ever.

She says, “I think that definitely is part of what led me here, because I wanted to do that so bad. My 10-year-old self wanted to sing with or around Alan Jackson if that was at all possible. In honor of that, I’m going to sing one of his songs tonight.”

She goes on to say that “Remember When” is one of her favorite Alan Jackson songs.

We have to agree with you there, Carrie. The heartfelt lyrics Alan wrote for his wife, Denise, have us melting every time we hear it.

Though Alan and Carrie still haven’t recorded a proper duet, they did record the same song a few years back. It’s called “Look at Me,” and fans have tried to make a mashup of their two versions on YouTube with mixed results.

Here’s hoping Carrie and Alan hit the studio together one day soon.
