It was a night of stars on Sunday, Jan. 8, as celebrities packed The Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, California for The 74th Annual Golden Globes Awards.

And, two guests who flashed their gorgeous smiles during the evening were Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman.

The married couple of 10 years walked the red carpet ahead of the awards show and caught up with NBC Correspondent Jenna Bush Hager, who is also the daughter of former President George W. Bush. Aside from chatting about Nicole’s role in the film “Lion” — which earned her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture — Jenna consulted Keith about Nicole’s stunning metallic Alexander McQueen gown.

Jenna turned to the country crooner and asked, “Do you get the final approval of Nicole’s dresses?” Keith then responded with, “I get the first look, which feels just as good.”

As it turns out, that awkward exchange shocked fans enough to start a storm on social media. Tongues began to wag on Twitter as one fan wrote, “Asking Keith Urban if he gets ‘approval’ of Nicole Kidman’s dress? Please. She’s an adult woman.”

Another fan tweeted, “Who, in 2017, asks Keith Urban if he gets final approval over Kidman’s dress? Are wives chattel again? I missed the memo.”

And, yes. The tweets went on and on.

Jenna’s inquiry may have been a tad off-putting to fans, but perhaps she was just trying to get some secrets on how the stars get red-carpet ready. And heck, being in the presence of Nicole and Keith is enough to give anybody the nervous sweats!

Interestingly enough, it was actually the couple’s daughters, Sunday Rose, 8, and Faith Margaret, 6, who gave the sparkling dress a thumbs up.

“They loved this dress,” Kidman told “Entertainment Tonight.” “I said, ‘Do I look like your fairy godmother?’ And they said, ‘You’re our fairy mother!'”
