Here at Rare Country — much like the rest of Thomas Rhett’s fans and most of the entire country music community — we have fallen in love and are completely infatuated with the first daughter of Thomas and Lauren Akins: Willa Gray. We especially love her little expressive face. She’s just so happy and curious.

Now we have a new expression to add to our collection of favorites—duck face diva! And we say that with great affection.

After Sunday church, Thomas Rhett and Willa Gray took a series of photos in what appears to be a photo booth that also advertises local Nashville live music venues the Cannery Ballroom, Mercy Lounge and the High Watt. Given three opportunities to pose for the pic strip, daddy tries to get his baby girl to look at the camera and smile. What we get is that inquisitive face we’ve grown to love, then a perfect pucker followed by an, “I’m bored with this Dad, can we go?” look of teenage disinterest.

Obviously, Willa Gray loves her precious poppy, but the little nugget has had a lot to process since arriving in America from Uganda a few months ago, so she’s likely more puzzled by all of the attention and gadgets than she is unimpressed by having her photo taken. Regardless, she’s such a cutie patootie we can hardly see straight.

We’re on baby watch now as Thomas Rhett and Lauren await the arrival of Willa’s baby sister. Lauren is past the 36-week mark now, so she could go into labor at any point, but baby girl No. 2 is officially set to debut in early August.
