Drake White’s latest single, “Making Me Look Good Again,” is a sexy ode to his wife, Alex, so it only makes sense she’d be his co-star for the song’s red-hot video,

Drake jokes that Alex needed a little tequila to set the mood before the steamy video shoot at their house just north of downtown Nashville. The drink obviously worked like a charm. In fact, Drake and Alex got so into filming that love scene on their kitchen table they ended up breaking one of the legs off the table, which was a family heirloom.

“It was her grandmother’s table,” Drake tells Rare Country. “We kind of defiled the table there.”

Don’t worry. Drake was able to fix grandma’s table, but that story about how it got damaged set tongues wagging back in Drake’s Alabama hometown.

Drake says with a laugh, “Yes, I think that kind of made its rounds in Alabama through the churches and the [people with their] noses in the blinds.”

Once the video was finished, Alex was a little concerned about what her family would think of the steamy love scenes. In order to face it head-on, Drake and Alex actually sat down with her dad and showed him the video for the first time.

Drake adds, “Watching the video with her dad, we were both kind of embarrassed. She’s not shy, but she was embarrassed to let her dad watch it.”

Though the video make for an awkward moment with Alex’s dad, it was totally worth it. Millions of other fans have now discovered the song thanks to the video, and it all turned out exactly as Drake dreamed it would.

Looking back on his initial plan for the clip, Drake says, “I just told the producer, I said, ‘Man, let’s make it cool and take some chances on it. Make it weird. Make it artsy.’ But it’s straightforward. Let’s just play the storyline.”

He adds, “I thought it came across good.”
