We’ve known for a long time that Luke Bryan and wife Caroline are good people. It’s always been family first with them, and that says a lot about their character. The fact that Caroline was also intent on making good on a promise she made to their infant niece, Sadie Brett, before the baby’s passing says even more.
On August 8, we learned that Caroline had promised the baby girl a white pony. Unfortunately, sweet Brett did not survive her congenital heart defect and passed away in February. But Caroline, a woman of her word, decided to keep her promise and her superstar husband supported her.
But, as we saw in a previous Instagram video, it wasn’t just with a pony — it was a whole barnyard full of mini animals.
In a new video Caroline shared on Instagram Aug. 9, we learned that they couple didn’t buy those animals, they rescued them. “Thank you @Redemtion_Road_Rescue for introducing Kilo and many other animals to our family,” Caroline writes. “We always knew we would find (for Brett) the perfect pony, but never thought she wouldn’t be here to love it.”
Sweet Brett, here's your pony! Her name is Kilo and she's perfectly perfect. Playful, gentle, and has the cutest little gallop! Little heavy in the rear, but she owns it…has some sass in her step! Kilo is loving life in your barn. Thank you @redemption_road_rescue for introducing Kilo and many other animals to our family. We always knew we would find (for Brett) the perfect pony, but never thought she wouldn't be here to love it. If Brett were still with us, I imagine she and Ellen would braid and put little bows in her mane. My brother would drive all over Tennessee to find the perfect unicorn horn for Kilo…because we all know Brett would've wanted a unicorn! We love you Queen Bee 👑🐝 #brightforbrett #brettsbarn
In addition to pony, Kilo, whom Caroline describes as, “Playful, gentle, and has the cutest little gallop! Little heavy in the rear, but she owns it … has some sass in her step,” several of the other animals at Brett’s Barn are rescues. In fact, in a previous post, Caroline introduced readers to Goober Goldsby, the goat.
“For some reason, GG was abandoned shortly after birth,” she writes. “Luckily, our dear friend @aquatroyg rescued this sweet baby and bottle fed him until he was strong enough to join our family.” Not only did Goober join Bryans, he seems to be ruling the roost, escaping the barnyard and making himself at home on the human furniture. Hilarious!
"Hello friends!!" Meet Goober Goldsby (GG)….our first sweetie to join Brett's Barn. For some reason, GG was abandoned shortly after birth. Luckily, our dear friend @aquatroyg rescued this sweet baby and bottle fed him until he was strong enough to join our family. GG enjoys running in circles, climbing, stealing kisses, stealing cat food, and annoying the other animals! Occasionally, he escapes the barn and runs straight to our house for a visit. GG thinks it's funny to destroy my landscaping, watch the kids swim, make himself at home on the furniture, and he LOVES my brother!! Oh how we love this silly goat! ♥️🐐#brettsbarn #brightforbrett
So while Brett’s Barn was established to honor the baby niece that they’ll always remember and love, it’s also become a safe haven for these barnyard babies who need a home.
It’s a little four-legged therapy for the Bryans, and we’re betting animal lover Miranda Lambert would love it, too.
